Talaat Mustafa Group developed two distinct cities in New Cairo: Rehab City in the 90s, and Madinaty in 2006. Both cities are known for their calmness, security, excellent services and proliferation of green areas. Rehab was one of the first integrated city to be successfully developed by the private sector. It contains various schools, restaurants, commercial malls, offices and health care services. Madinaty was built later with better planning and it is much bigger than Rehab. Rehab and Madinaty are among the most highly sought after residential areas in Cairo, mostly due to the success in making them a livable community with full access to services. One of the drawbacks of both cities is the increased prices of commodities and products that are sold inside, and some residents start reporting that Rehab is becoming crowded during weekends especially in the commercial areas. Both cities offer upper-middle and upscale apartments and villas. Rehab and Madinaty have several gated entrances, and Rehab can also be accessed from the First Settlement or the Northern Investors neighborhood. Talaat Mustafa successfully built its own transportation system to help residents move from the cities to the center of Cairo, and now residents can use air conditioned buses to move in and out of the cities.
