Arc of Soma Resort is carried out by Soma Bay Development Company, established in 1991. Soma Bay is one of the most important projects carried out by the Company, as it is the first model to mix real estate development with tourism.

The Soma Bay project began in 1991 as Egypt's first integrated development project. It is a peninsula with an area of 10 million meters and located 40 km south of Hurghada. It features an 11 km length beach and a 5.5 km length beach for guests. One of the most prominent features of the project is the golf course, which is the first of its kind in Egypt. The golf course was founded by the famous golfer "Gary Player" who won many international awards. The golf course is established on an area of half a million meters and is directly located on the seashore. It has hosted many international golf tournaments.
The Soma Bay project includes many hotels that were first established in 1998, such as Sheraton Soma Bay Hotels with 326 rooms, Westin Hotel with 166 rooms, Bricars Hotel with 174 rooms, Robinson Hotel with 348 rooms, and Kempinski Hotel with 325 rooms, which was opened in 2009.
